What you're agreeing to
These are our terms of service. By using Vector Library, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use our service. We wrote this in plain language so it is easy to understand.
What our service does
Vector Library helps you search your documents using AI. Here is what you can do:
- Connect to your own document storage (local files or your cloud storage)
- Ask questions about your documents in natural language
- Get answers with citations showing which documents the answer came from
- Create workspaces to organize your document searches
- Share workspace access with your team
- Set different permission levels for team members
Important: Your documents always stay on your storage system. We do not host or store your files. We only create search indexes to help you find information in your documents.
We use AI to process your documents. This helps us understand them and answer your questions. See the AI processing section below for more details.
Your account
To use our service, you need:
- A Google account to sign in
- To be at least 13 years old
- To follow these terms
You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Don't share your login with others. If you think someone has accessed your account without permission, contact us right away.
Rules for using the service
You agree to these rules:
- Don't upload illegal content or content that violates others' rights
- Don't use the service to harm others or spread malware
- Don't try to hack or break the service
- Don't use the service to send spam
- Don't overload our servers with too many requests
- Respect the privacy of others whose documents you store
If you break these rules, we may suspend or terminate your account. We may also remove content that violates these rules.
Your content
You own your documents. We do not claim ownership of your files.
Your documents stay on your storage. We do not store your files on our servers. Your documents remain on your local system or your own cloud storage account.
By using our service, you give us permission to:
- Read your documents from your storage to create search indexes
- Process your documents with AI to create summaries and enable search
- Share search results with team members you invite to your workspace
- Store search indexes and metadata on our servers (not the actual files)
You are responsible for the content you choose to index. Make sure you have the right to use that content. Don't use our service with content that infringes on others' rights.
AI processing
Our service uses AI to process your documents. This is necessary for the service to work.
Your documents stay on your storage. We read them from your storage system to create search indexes. We do not store your files on our servers.
By using our service, you consent to:
- AI reading your documents from your storage to create searchable summaries
- AI processing document content to generate search indexes
- AI generating answers to your questions based on your documents
- AI analyzing documents when you search or ask questions
We may use external AI services to do this processing. Document content is sent to these services for analysis when you search. If you prefer, you can set up your own AI service to use instead.
Important: AI-generated answers may not always be perfect. You should verify important information. We are not responsible for errors in AI-generated content.
Ending your account
You can stop using the service anytime. You can also delete your account.
If you delete your account:
- We will delete your profile information from our servers
- Workspaces you own will be removed from our system (metadata and search indexes only)
- Your documents are not affected. Since your files stay on your storage system, they remain there. We never had your files, so we cannot delete them. You keep full control of your documents.
- Workspaces where you are a member (not owner) will remain. Your access will be removed.
We may also suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms. We will try to notify you first, but we may act immediately in serious cases.
Our responsibility limits
We provide this service as-is. We do our best to keep it working well, but we cannot guarantee:
- The service will always be available without interruption
- AI-generated answers will always be accurate
Your documents are your responsibility. Since your files stay on your storage system, we are not responsible for file loss, corruption, or backup. Please maintain your own backups of your documents.
We are not responsible for damages that result from:
- You not being able to access the service
- Loss of search indexes or metadata we store (your documents remain safe on your storage)
- AI-generated content that is incorrect
- Actions of other users you share workspaces with
- Problems caused by third-party services we use
Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. If you use our free tier, our liability is limited to $100.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make big changes, we will email you. We will give you 30 days notice for significant changes. If you keep using the service after changes, that means you accept the new terms.
